The project:

MFG Hogganfield Loch (Esso) is situated on the busy Cumbernauld Road, Strathclyde, leading into Glasgow city centre.  The site offers a wide variety of retail concessions, plus Esso fuels, a convenience store and off-licence. Furthermore, motorists can take advantage of the automatic car wash or self-service jet wash facilities and vacuum station.

This thriving 24-hour service station has recently been extended to make way for a popular high-street bakery outlet, which in turn led to a significant refurbishment programme for the entire site, elevating the customer shopping experience to a whole new level.

DRB has maintained a strong working relationship with MFG for many years, making DRB the obvious choice to complete the transformation of the store’s lighting system and the replacement of the perimeter floodlights surrounding the forecourt.

The solution:

DRB completed a site survey to ascertain the nature of the work and formulate a course of action to meet the strict deadline specified by MFG.

During the refurbishment, the store was partially closed, prompting the team to work quickly and coordinate their tasks with the numerous other contractors on site to ensure the project was completed on time.

The assignment was executed flawlessly by the DRB technicians, with no unexpected issues, and their hard work was acknowledged and praised by the MFG retail management team.

The work at MFG included:

  • Initial site survey and risk assessment
  • Design
  • Lighting/Power replacement
  • Rigorous electrical testing to verify the integrity of the lighting system
  • Commissioning

The result:

DRB is proud to showcase the successful completion of the site upgrade works to MFG Hogganfield’s store and forecourt perimeter. This comprehensive installation involved the replacement of outdated luminaires with state-of-the-art LED lighting, considerably enhancing both the energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal of the store. This upgrade aligns with DRB’s commitment to sustainability by reducing energy consumption and minimising light pollution.

Chris Dailly, DRB’s Electrical Operations Manager commented “DRB is delighted to deliver another quality project on behalf of our valued client MFG on time, within budget and to the highest quality and standard. We look forward to continuing this successful relationship in the future”
